yes there is an overdose. depending on how long ago you did it you may need to get him to a vet. wash the area where you applied the frontline and read the package. there is usually an emergency number to call if you suspect your overdosed your dog. if it were my dog, I’d be at an emergency clinic having him checked out to make sure he is ok.

Frontline(Fipronil)is an antiparasitic agent primarily used to kill adult fleas and ticks in animals(dogs). On application it collects in the oils of the skin and in the hair follicles. The effects last for about 30 days. Over dosage is rare but even over dosage no adverse effects have been reported even up to 5 times the dose.

Fipronil overdose is not common. According to the makers of Frontline, dogs can be exposed to up to five times the suggested dose with no adverse effects. Of course, only use one pipette in the size recommended for your animal! If your dog is drooling a lot, or has irritated skin, it may have a fipronil allergy. Check with vet.

If you are concerned…contact a vet, or an emergency vet and double check with them over the phone.

    Hope your dog is ok.

you need to call a vet a.s.a.p.
if it is out of hours, call the emergency vet. the answerphone message at your vets should tell you the number.

Immediately bath the puppy - use some Dawn Dishwashing liquid if you’ve got any - and be sure to get all of the Frontline off that you can. While you’re doing that, have someone check the box about an overdose number to call or call the closest emergency vet clinic.
