I just need any tips to get rid of fleas… what is the best product to get rid of fleas on a small dog?

You’re better off using Advantage or Frontline. If your dog gets frequent baths however both of those wash off a bit (Advantage is supposed to wash off a LOT faster though).

I really wish they would stop selling flea shampoos as they don’t work.

You need to go to your vet and get a flea control product to give him monthly. Here’s a chart of the options: http://www.marvistavet.com/html/flea_product_comparison.html

Don’t bother buying any OTC stuff-none of them are as effective as what you’ll get through your vet and many of them are notorious for making dogs ill.

You’ll need to get some sort of flea spray from the pet supply store to treat your home and your car, because you have fleas and their eggs all over your house and car by now,

And wash any linens or dog beds that your dog uses or lays on as well.

Few dog owners are fortunate enough to avoid an eventual run-in with fleas, the most common dog parasites. Even with regular bathing and grooming, the tireless critters can find their way to the tender flesh of unsuspecting dogs, and even dog owners.

Advantage and Frontline Plus are both spot-on treatment which are waterproof.

Here’s a link that talks about these two, among other alternative treatments. good luck!
