Pet meds are costing me way too much money at my local pet med retailer. I have a few cats and 1 dog, and I’m constantly trying to keep them vaccinated and healthy. I care for them very much, but it is also costing me some money. Where can I go to buy pet meds at a discount?
For flea & tick control, I get mine from PetEdge.com. I have 6 dogs & their cost is the lowest I’ve found & there are discounts for bulk orders. I also get all my pet treats, shampoos, toys & clothes from them. It’s the same place PetsMart & Petco get their supplies.
Try a veterinary pharmacy.
Most retailers and vets are reasonable in their prices, though, so you might not save much money this way.
Also, try to find out if any of the meds you use exist in human formula. You shouldn’t switch to human medication without professional advice, but be aware that some vet meds are identical to human meds, except a lot more expensive.
For example, I have a dog on glucosamine/chondroitin supplements, on the vet’s recommendation. The exact same formulation and dosage costs $40. for dogs, $18.95 for humans. She also takes a human muscle relaxant for back pain, again on the vet’s advice. You have to be careful, though. For back pain, human Robaxin is perfect, Robaxacet (same main ingredient, same brand, but with an added ingredient) would kill her!
Might be worth a little research, though.

The best place to look for this type of discounts is SearchAllDeals. Just start with a search term like "pets medicine".
